Scholars For Medicine

This program is only for incoming freshmen.

The Scholars for Medicine Program is an integrated eight year B.A./M.D. course of study offered to exceptional high school students. While completing undergraduate studies, students participate in medical school classes and activities. Admission to the medical school is contingent upon achieving a minimum G.P.A. of 3.4, and above average MCAT scores.

To be considered for the Scholars for Medicine program, you need:

    • Combined SAT score of 1350 or higher
    • Essay specifically for the Scholars for Medicine option.
    • Documentation of permanent residency

     

Students who have been accepted into the WISE Scholars for Medicine Initiative are guaranteed a seat in the School of Medicine at Stony Brook University upon graduation provided they fulfill the following requirements:

  • Complete the WISE Program
  • Complete all requirement pre-medical courses
  • Maintain a minimum 3.4 GPA
  • Successfully complete and attain a cumulative MCAT score comparable to the national average of medical school matriculates
