4.Yes. The WISE application is a separate application from the Stony Brook application. You must apply to both Stony Brook and the WISE Program to be considered.

8.No, you cannot be in both. You can apply to both WISE and the Honors College, but you will only be accepted to one or the other. If you would prefer to be in one over the other, please indicate your first and second choice on your application.

WISE Precollege


1.WISE offers two programs to pre-college students.

Women for Women is a mentoring program linking middle school students from the Brentwood and Riverhead school districts with undergraduate and graduate students at SUNY Stony Brook for hands-on activities in the sciences, math, and technology.

WISE High School offers sophomores, juniors, and seniors from the Comsewogue, Mt. Sinai, Port Jefferson, and Riverhead schools a three-year program, which exposes students to university research.
