The deadline is December 31.

Admission is highly competitive. Candidates must apply for fall freshman admissions and have:

  • a demonstrated aptitude or interest in science, math or engineering
  • four years of math and science courses in high school
  • excellent grades and grade point average
  • research or other relevant experience
  • a minimum score of:
    630 on the math section of the SAT Reasoning Test;
    600 in a math or science SAT Subject Test;
    or 27 on the ACT Test
  • extracurricular activities such as participation in a math, engineering or science club.

Follow these steps to apply:

  • Submit your application for admission by December 1st, and submit all supporting documentation, including high school transcript, SAT/ACT scores, Two Teacher Evaluations, and the Supplemental Application (including essay) by December 31st .

  • Check the box indicating you want to apply to WISE on the Supplemental Application.

  • Students applying through the Common Application must write an essay on Topic #1 in the Personal Essay section: Evaluate a significant experience, achievement, risk you have taken, or ethical dilemma you have have faced and its impact on you. Please limit your topic to intellectual experiences pertinent to science, math or engineering.

  • At least one Teacher Evaluation should be from a science or math teacher

  • If you are applying to the Scholars for Medicine Program, complete the Scholars for Medicine essay portion on the supplemental application.
