Working Group The Working Group
consists of the WISE Director, Program Coordinator and approximately twenty women
and several men from the SUSB faculty and staff who enthusiastically volunteer
their time to WISE. The Working Group meets approximately every other month to
set policy, discuss curriculum changes, plan the budget and discuss difficulties
the students may be having, or accomplishments they have achieved. The Working
Group is subdivided into committees whose members participate in such areas as
supervision of the mentor groups, academic advising, matching students with scholarships
and internships, and recruiting. Many members of the Working Group participate
in the evening programs, and all of them are available for one to one consultations
with the WISE students. The members represent almost all Science, Math, and Engineering
Departments within the University, as well as several Humanities Departments.
Professor Dusa McDuff, one of the Working Group members, has been the Undergraduate
Director of Mathematics, and Professor Marci Lobel has been the Undergraduate
Director of Psychology. If any students have questions about a particular major,
what courses to take, or just want to talk to a faculty member who is familiar
with the campus, they can feel free to contact a member of the Working Group for
a meeting. To find out how to join the working group, click
