Apply to WISE!

The deadline is December 31.

Admission is highly competitive. Candidates must apply for fall freshman
admissions and have:

• a demonstrated aptitude or interest in science, math or engineering
• four years of math and science courses in high school
  
• excellent grades and grade point average
  
• research or other relevant experience
  
• a minimum score of:
  630 on the math section of the SAT Reasoning Test;
  600 in a math or science SAT Subject Test;
  or 27 on the ACT Test
  
• extracurricular activities such as participation in a math, engineering or science club.

Follow these five steps to apply:

1. Apply to Stony Brook University by December 1. After you apply, you will receive your user id and password. Once you have these, you can proceed to the next step.

2. Complete the ONLINE SUPPLEMENTAL APPLICATION by December 31. Check the box indicating you want to apply to WISE. More about Supplemental...

3. Send a photocopy of your TRANSCRIPT DIRECTLY TO THE WISE OFFICE, P120 Physics Bldg., Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, NY 11794-3880. Mailing a photocopy of your transcript directly to the WISE office will speed your application; this step is not mandatory but recommended!

4. Send us your letters of recommendation. At least one letter must be from a math or science teacher. This is VERY IMPORTANT! Mailing your letters directly to the WISE office will speed your application (not mandatory but recommended).

5. If you are applying to the Scholars for Medicine Program, complete the second essay portion on the supplemental application.
